Firefighter/EMT – Apply Today
A Fire/EMS member rides both the fire engine and the ambulance at the station. The fire engine responds to a variety of fire 9-1-1 calls including gas leaks, house and apartment fires, car accidents, severe medical emergencies, and others. The Fire/EMS member is expected to pass Firefighter I and EMT-B courses, and get “turned over” through the in-station testing process. The member must be able to operate effectively on fire incidents and must be able to use all the tools, hose lines, and ladders available on the engine.
EMS Only – Apply Today
An EMS-only member rides the ambulance only. The ambulance responds to all kinds of health-related 9-1-1 calls, ranging from mildly sick citizens to medical catastrophes. The EMS member is expected to pass the EMT-B course, and get “turned over” through the in-station testing process. The EMS member may also choose to become an ambulance driver.
Administrative – Apply Today
An administrative member assists the department leadership in clerical duties. This type of member is not allowed to ride on the apparatus. The only course required for administrative membership is Volunteer Recruit School (VRS).
